2025 in the Sigma Software Labs orbit

In 2025, we continued working with the Ukrainian startup ecosystem and beyond, focusing on ideas, products, and teams. This year was intense, and fast – and we’re grateful to everyone who built with us. Let’s take a snapshot of what we’ve created, backed, and moved forward in 2025.

Expanding Our Portfolio

In 2025, we kept doubling down on market-proven early-stage teams – bringing them into Sigma Software clients & partners conversations and supporting real delivery around their products. Total startup investments reached $3.5M. In 2025, we welcomed two new portfolio investments:

memoryOS – EdTech platform helping people remember what they learned, instead of relearning, with 100,000+ users worldwide, and co-invested with SID Venture Partners;

Defender Media – media platform focused on the business side of Ukraine’s defense; now became a noticeable voice in the space and an insider into top investment rounds in 2025, while developing partnerships with European Defense Tech & General Cherry, Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry, and more to come.

Beyond investments, we also kept scaling Sigma Software’s product portfolio – solutions where we act as cross-sellers & integrators, using networks across the Group to help products grow and enter new markets. Today, the portfolio includes 35+ solutions across data, cybersecurity, and other domains. We also work hands-on with portfolio-born products, and in 2025, two of them, in logistics & FinTech, became part of our official product lineup.

Labs Galaxy Community: Venture Lab

Sigma Software Group unites 2,000+ engineers across multiple client domains – people who see real problems from the inside. We’ve already built successful products through our venture lab and even delivered exits to market leaders. Now it’s time to scale – by turning our colleagues’ product ideas into real ventures, we can grow together. That’s why in early 2025, we launched the Labs Galaxy Community – an internal venture pipeline where ideas get tested, shaped into products, and pushed forward with a true product mindset.

Hi. I’m the Orbit Cat from the Labs Galaxy.

Normally, I don’t write corporate blogs, but someone has to explain how we’re building a product mindset without turning it into another boring initiative. I share best content and playbooks, drive active chats for idea exchange, and invite colleagues to regular meetups/workshops where they learn how products are built from even the craziest ideas. Meow. Some of these ideas will grow into real unicorns. I’ll be watching closely. You should, too.

Defense Innovation Highlights

In 2025, Defence Builder (accelerator for UA defense tech, co-founded by Labs) released its second batch of program graduates, adding 9 new companies and bringing the total number to 15 teams. We supported the graduates with fundraising and partner access (around $2M raised across the portfolio). Next, we’re helping Defence Builder launch Batch 3.0 – designed as a more scalable, Europe-facing program, in partnership with 17Tech Accelerator & VC (Finland), enabling teams to pitch into NATO and EU networks. In parallel, we actively advocated for Ukrainian defense innovation across key platforms in NATO markets – because staying visible, trusted, and connected is what keeps these pathways open.

Defender Ventures, a VC fund within the Defence Builder ecosystem, invested in 4 teams – from protecting our sky to secure communications – including Sine Engineering (comms & positioning platform), MaXon (interceptors and autonomous protection against drone attacks), Falcons (detect-confirm-strike C-UAVs with land detection + anti-radiation autopilot), and Huless (GPS-free UAV relay).

Ecosystem Presence

We believe ecosystems don’t grow on their own; they grow when people consistently show up, connect the right dots, and help teams become visible beyond their local networks. That’s why, alongside building our internal ecosystem in the company, we support the wider tech community externally – to create real routes to partners, customers, and investors.

In 2025, we took part in 40+ events, engaging with 200,000+ people. This included tech-forward platforms like IT Arena in Lviv, VivaTech and Warsaw-Kyiv Tech Hub, Web Summit, and more, but also more recovery-focused forums like Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) in Rome and ReBuild Ukraine in Warsaw, where many of the most important conversations were about technology for the real economy.

Beyond events, we also contributed to ecosystem visibility through the “Top 100 Rising Ukrainian Startups 2026” catalog by Techosystem, Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine & Vector as jury members, and supported selection and spotlighting efforts with Polish-Ukrainian Startup Bridge in “Unbreakable Innovations: Ukrainian Startups Fighting Today” study. These reports and rankings are important in helping Ukrainian teams become more visible internationally, which directly leads to partner conversations, investor interest, and, ultimately, real deals.

Mission Milestones

We do this work with purpose – building real products, ventures, and pathways for Ukrainian innovation to scale. And when the industry recognizes that work, it’s not just a nice moment – it’s a meaningful signal of trust, so we’re sharing a few highlights below:

  • Sigma Software Labs was shortlisted at the European CVC Awards (Software / SaaS / IT / Telecom).
  • Daria Yaniieva, Investment Director at Sigma Software Labs, was included in Forbes “30 Under 30” (Ukraine).
  • UNICORN (startup contest) entered the Top 10 at the DOU Awards as the Best non-profit initiative promoting the IT industry.
  • Defence Builder was named among the Top 10 at the DOU Awards in the category of Initiatives bringing victory closer.
  • Buntar Aerospace (portfolio startup) won the DOU Awards as Most Promising Project.

What’s next?

2025 gave us a lot of confirmation that we’re on the right track – and for us, that’s the most efficient reason to keep going. In 2026, we’ll expand what works: a stronger product portfolio, more hands-on support for teams entering new markets, and continued investments into innovative technologies & Ukraine’s resilience capability.

If you’re building tech and need help with fundraising, partners, clients, or market entry, we’re happy to connect the dots across our network. If you’re a startup founder and want to work with us, apply through our website or get introduced – we’re always open to the next strong team.

Thank you for being with us through 2025. Let’s build the next chapter together.
